Adolescent Medicine
Adolescence and young adulthood are critical times in life when people go through big changes in their bodies, emotions, social lives and thinking. During these years, teens face many challenges as they work to become independent and figure out their identity. This time can also come with a higher willingness to take risks, which can lead to riskier behaviors. At the Adolescent Medicine program, we support teens and their families in dealing with these challenges by focusing on their strengths and providing care that centers on the individual.
Our team of doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, nutritionists and psychologists works together to help improve the health and well-being of adolescents and young adults. We provide care that is complete, sensitive to past trauma, and respectful of each person's culture. We treat every patient as a unique person with their own needs.
We do not encourage teens to keep secrets from their parents or guardians. We know that loved ones can play a big role in helping teens make healthy choices. While we ask that you trust us to manage sensitive information in the years ahead, our goal is the same as yours — to help your teen be as healthy as possible.
