The overarching goal of the CP Research Program is to foster high-impact, community-engaged research that spans the population science translation pipeline, from advancing the understanding of risk factors, identifying intervention targets, then developing and testing new interventions, to studying the process of dissemination and implementation of evidence-based interventions in practice.
Specific Aims
- Advance the understanding of risk factors and intervention targets for cancer prevention and control.
- Develop and test the efficacy of interventions across the cancer control continuum.
- Study the dissemination and implementation of evidence-based interventions.
The CP Research Program has members across the University of Kentucky campus, representing eight colleges and fifteen departments.
Markey Research Member profiles can be accessed through the Scholars@UK platform. Click below to see the CP members and their profiles.
The CP Program’s monthly meetings are designed to facilitate new research proposals and to encourage collaborations between CP members and the members of Markey’s other research programs.
If you would like to be added to the mailing list for the CP Program and receive meeting dates and times, please contact Dr. Krystle Kuhs and Dr. Jessica Burris.
CP members actively participate in the following Transdisciplinary Working Groups and collaborative groups:
- Breast
- Gastrointestinal
- Prostate
- Lung
- Molecular Tumor Board
- Pediatric Molecular Tumor Board
- ORIEN/Total Cancer Care
- Technology Interest Group
- Grow the program in prioritized areas of emerging research strengths including molecular/genetic epidemiology, implementation science and health policy
- Increase intra- and inter-programmatic interactions, and
- Provide resources and support to increase investigator-initiated NCI grants, especially multi-PI grants.
