UK HealthCare Tobacco-free Policy
At UK HealthCare, we are committed to fostering a healthy environment for our patients, visitors, staff and students. In alignment with this commitment, the University of Kentucky campus and all UK HealthCare properties have implemented a tobacco-free policy.
Policy overview
The use of all tobacco products is strictly prohibited on all UK HealthCare and University of Kentucky grounds and parking areas. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Traditional cigarettes
- Electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes)
- Chewing tobacco
- Pipes
- Cigars
- Hookah or waterpipe smoking
- Vaping devices
- Snuff
This policy applies to all UK HealthCare hospitals, clinics and properties, both indoors and outdoors.
Scope
The tobacco-free policy is applicable to all individuals on university property, including:
- Employees
- Patients
- Visitors
- Students
- Volunteers
- Contractors
- Vendors
Compliance
Ensuring compliance with the tobacco-free policy is a shared responsibility. We kindly ask for everyone's cooperation in maintaining a healthy, tobacco-free environment.
