About

Rick McClure, MD, grew up in Ashland, Ky., where he learned from and shadowed physicians who were family friends. After being inspired by how the care they provided helped patients, he pursued a career in medicine.

Dr. McClure received his degree and completed his residency and fellowship at the University of Kentucky. He is passionate about supporting Kentucky communities and has traveled throughout Central, Eastern and Southern Kentucky to provide cardiovascular care to patients in underserved areas.

Dr. McClure is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and has a specialization in cardiovascular disease. In collaboration with others, he established the Gill Heart & Vascular Affiliate Network at UK HealthCare. The network allows the Gill Heart & Vascular Institute to work closely with affiliate hospitals across the state to provide high-quality cardiovascular care to Kentuckians in their home communities.
