Dr. Nicole McCoin is a Professor of Emergency Medicine and the Vice Dean for Faculty Affairs and Development at University of Kentucky College of Medicine. She is an Alpha Omega Alpha graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and also completed her residency and chief residency in the Vanderbilt Department of Emergency Medicine. She continued as faculty at Vanderbilt for many years, serving in multiple capacities including Course Director for the School of Medicine, Faculty Senator, and Vice Chair for Education and Residency Program Director in the Department of Emergency Medicine. Subsequently she served as Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was selected as one of the 2019-2020 Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) Fellows. Her recent awards and achievements include selection as one of the 2020 Nashville Women to Watch; 2021 Ochsner Health System Physician Academic Contributor of the Year; and the 2023 American College of Emergency Physicians National Emergency Medicine Faculty Teaching Award. She joined University of Kentucky College of Medicine in April 2024.
