About

I am a complex spine and peripheral nerve surgeon, specializing in minimally invasive techniques that treat a variety of spinal and nerve conditions. I received a master’s degree in public health from the University of London and my medical training and PhD from McGill University. I completed a residency in neurological surgery at the University of Toronto and finished two fellowships in peripheral nerve and complex spine surgery. I served on faculty for over 10 years at the Ohio State University in the Department of Neurological Surgery.

My current research focuses on developing and validating surrogate markers that can help better predict functional recovery after surgery for a variety of conditions including traumatic spinal cord injury and myelopathy. The results of this research will help guide the rational design of future human trials. I also oversee several clinical trials evaluating new implants to enhance the safety and efficacy of spinal surgery. My research has been published in numerous scholarly journals, including the Journal of Neurotrauma and the Journal of Neurosurgery Spine. Working at UK allows me to provide cutting-edge treatment and care while also participating in advancing standards of care through research and education.

He came in the room. Was told he would look at MRI w/me. He did not. He seemed indifferent to my problem and acted like it was no big deal. I don't think he understood the amount of pain I am in. I expressed this to him and didn't seem to care.

She grabbed my hands and was squeezing them. When I took my hands away she was rude. She said hateful you you want an exam or not. When I told her they hurt bad she rolled her eyes. I will not be back at all.

The intern or doctors assistant came in after me waiting for about 15-20 min. and let me know the dr. was running behind then she checked my reflexes and then left out the dr. finally came in he never had any contact with me he stood across the room and abruptly told me he couldn't help me and left. I was in a state of shock and felt slighted by the dr. I was not treated professionally and felt disappointed.
