About
Dr. Cortney Lee is a board-certified surgeon with advanced training in endocrine surgery. After completing medical school at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock and El Paso, Texas, Lee joined UK for general surgery residency. She then returned to Texas for an endocrine surgery fellowship at Scott & White Medical Center, the primary clinical teaching campus of Texas A&M.
She rejoined UK HealthCare in 2011, and is now an Professor of Surgery with special expertise in thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal surgery. She has a special interest in surgeon-directed ultrasound and FNA. She uses many techniques to improve her patients’ experiences including radio-guided, minimally invasive parathyroidectomy and minimally invasive laparoscopic and retroperitoneoscopic adrenalectomy.
Lee is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, and the American Thyroid Association, and she is the recipient of numerous teaching awards from the UK College of Medicine.
