Amartya Kundu, MD, FACC, FSCAI

About

Dr. Amartya Kundu, MD, FACC, FSCAI is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Kentucky and an Interventional Cardiologist at the UK Gill Heart & Vascular Institute. He graduated from medical school with honors from Calcutta Medical College in India, after which he moved to the United States for post-graduate medical training. Dr. Kundu completed his Internal Medicine Residency training at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He went on to complete Fellowship training in Cardiology (including a year as Chief Cardiology Fellow), as well as sub-specialty fellowship training in Interventional Cardiology – also from UMass.

He is an elected member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society and is Board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology. He has been an author of numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, as well as an invited speaker at many national and international conferences. His areas of clinical interest include complex high-risk coronary interventions, percutaneous mechanical circulatory support and cardiac critical care.
