Personal Statement

I was born and raised in Kentucky and feel a close kinship to fellow Kentuckians. I chose nursing as a career because of an interest in helping others in illness and in health and enjoy doing this in my home state of Kentucky. I received my Associate’s degree in nursing in 1995 and later continued my education while working at UK advancing now to a Master’s degree in nursing. I have worked in family practice as a nurse practitioner for 6 years and as a registered nurse for 24 years. I enjoy a focus in general health care with a special interest in preventive care.

    Carrie is the Best. My family has been with her for years. She always gives us the best explanation of solutions to our health problems and refers us as needed to specialists that can provide care to specific needs.

    Carrie is always wonderful. She takes time every visit to remind me to concentrate on the positives and gives me realistic advice and options for treatment. She is caring and compassionate is her care and wants to follow up regularly to check on my well-being. I wish I had found her 10 years ago!

      She seems kind of indifferent and didn't really explain anything. I had to ask what would be next steps if labs were off. When I stated what a previous doctor told me she basically said they were wrong but didn't explain why.

      Carrie Crum is amazing. She always listens to my issues and gives good advice. My A1C was 10.5 3 months ago and she added some medicine and 3 months later it is down to 7.5. Our goal is to get it below 7 by my next appointment in 3 months and take me off of one of my medications to see how I do. By doing this, I have a goal to shoot for and to be proactive in things that I do to better my health.
