About

Ricky Morse is an athletic trainer at UK HealthCare who primarily covers Lincoln County High School. Originally from Radcliff, Ky., Morse discovered athletic training while earning his bachelor’s from the University of Louisville and interning with the university’s football team. He later earned his bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Eastern Kentucky University and master’s in recreation and sport administration from Western Kentucky University. During that time, Morse continued to broaden his experiences with a graduate assistantship and internships where he treated athletes from high school to professional levels. He has been a part of the UK Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine team since 2018.

Personal Statement

I enjoy working with athletes because they are highly motivated and work toward clearly defined goals. Both my personal and family histories have guided and motivated me to become an athletic trainer: With a registered nurse as a mother and a physician assistant as an aunt, I have been around healthcare providers for as long as I can remember. As a former athlete, I was exposed to the concepts of teamwork from a young age. Now as a clinician, I am always learning new ways to help these athletes stay on track and full steam ahead.
