Markey named top 50 cancer hospital for fourth straight year
The UK Markey Cancer Center is once again ranked among the nation’s top 50 hospitals for cancer care in the 2020-2021 U.S. News & World Report Best Hospital ratings, and UK HealthCare's Albert B. Chandler Hospital once again ranks as the top hospital in the Commonwealth.
This year, Markey ranks 29th in the nation for cancer care. This is the fourth year in a row we have ranked among the nation’s best, and Markey is also the highest ranked cancer center within a 300-mile radius of Lexington.
Additionally, for the two cancer procedures that U.S. News evaluates, we once again rated as “High Performing” (the highest rating available) in both colon cancer surgery and lung cancer surgery.
U.S. News uses many factors to determine its top hospitals, including patient safety, quality, advanced technology and patient services, as well as other accreditations including our National Cancer Institute (NCI) designation, FACT accreditation and Magnet nursing care recognition.
This U.S. News honor demonstrates our dedication to providing world-class cancer care for the people of Kentucky and beyond. It also shows the commitment of our multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, researchers, technicians and other healthcare providers to providing state-of-the-art cancer care in a compassionate, caring environment.
