Colorectal Surgery

The Section of Colorectal Surgery has board certified colon and rectal surgeons, specializing in diseases of the small bowel, colon, rectum and anus with a special concentration in minimally invasive surgery of the gastrointestinal tract and the abdominal solid organs. They have completed training in general surgery and advanced training in the treatment of surgical and non-surgical colon and rectal problems. Our colon and rectal surgeons treat benign and malignant conditions, perform routine screening examinations and surgically treat problems when necessary.

Laparoscopic colorectal surgery using advanced techniques is the preferred approach for colon and rectal cancer resection. Proven to be equivalent to traditional surgery for treating colon cancer, this minimally invasive surgical option provides patients with faster return of bowel function, reduced postoperative pain and improved cosmetic results.
